I have been a reader of Hoe and Shovel since January of 2009. So you can just imagine how excited I was to be able to see Meems' garden in person this past Saturday. It was easy to find my way around because it was all so familiar.
I met some old friends and a lot of new ones. Bloggers in attendance were Susan from Simply Susan, Chris from The Great Wall of Lutz, Janice from Graceful Cottage Gardening, Brandy from A Ponderer Digresses, and Rhonda from Garden Almanac. There were some non-blogging garden enthusiasts as well. Meems' painting buddy came to join the fun along with Sherry who is a Master Gardener. Sweet neighbor, Helen had gone home to do some weeding in her own garden.
Oh yes, I did come home with some of this Pagoda flower, Clerodendrum paniculatum.
Thanks, Meems, for a lovely day.
Nana ~ It looks like a nice time was had by all of you. Your faces are wreathed in smiles.

Kay,
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy it was for ME to host these lovely ladies. Do you know I didn't take one single photo the entire visit! Probably because I never stopped running my mouth long enough to think about it. :-)
That was a GREAT group shot... except YOU were missing. I thought afterwards I should have had my mom take a picture of all of us. Did you get any when we all had umbrellas out walking around in the garden because it rained on us? I so wish I had a photo of that.
What fun! And such a pleasure to have everyone together at one time. Each person is so delightful and full of great ideas. And that spontaneous plant swap was so typical of 'when gardeners gather'.
It was a great day... I look forward to doing it again in the future.
Meems
Oooh, I would love to have been there! Maybe, next time!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely was a fun time and a pleasure to check out Meems garden up close and see the bigger picture.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a blast! I'm sure you guys had a lot of fun... its always nice to meet fellow bloggers and their gardens in person.
ReplyDeleteKay: I also wish I am there! Now I wish I am not living three hours away :( Glad to see that group picture, too bad you are missing from it! That sounds lots of fun, and I am sure Meems garden is just as lovely as it looks in the picture, except it is three dimensional!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!!
ReplyDeleteI'm GREEN with envy! What fun you ladies must have had! Good for you!!
ReplyDeleteNanaK, I know I had a great time visiting Meems garden, it wore me out I took a nap when I got home.
