It Was a Lovely Day

I have been a reader of Hoe and Shovel  since January of 2009.  So you can just imagine how excited I was to be able to see Meems' garden in person this past Saturday.  It was easy to find my way around  because it was all so familiar

Who could resist enjoying a quick rest in one those Adirondack chairs while admiring that big beautiful container?  The circle garden was a great gathering spot for all those in attendance.  From there we fanned out to enjoy the wildflower garden, the tropical pathway, the native planting bed, the veggie garden and all the other lush and lovely areas.

I met some old friends and a lot of new ones.  Bloggers in attendance were Susan from Simply Susan, Chris from The Great Wall of Lutz, Janice from Graceful Cottage Gardening, Brandy from A Ponderer Digresses, and Rhonda from Garden Almanac.  There were some non-blogging garden enthusiasts as well.  Meems' painting buddy came to join the fun along with  Sherry who is a Master Gardener.  Sweet neighbor, Helen had gone home to do some weeding in her own garden.

Oh yes, I did come home with some of this Pagoda flower, Clerodendrum paniculatum.

Thanks, Meems, for a lovely day.
